Tuileries Garden

The 63 acre Tuileries Garden is bordered on 4 sides by the Louvre, the Seine river, the Place de La Concorde and the Rue de Rivoli. Walking from the Louvre to the Arc de Triomphe through the Tuileries is one of the great walks of Paris. The beautiful Jeu de Paume modern art museum is in the northwest corner of the gardens, which follow a formal layout designed in the 17th century by Le Notre, the man who laid out the gardens at Versailles. Here’s where you’ll see pickup soccer games, children sailing boats on the pond, and Parisians sunning themselves on lovely days in those rickety little green chairs. Cafes and snacks abound throughout the park. LG
