Le Violon d’Ingres

In the seventh, owned and run by a renowned former chef of the Hotel Crillon  (Christian Constant), this has a Michelin star and a devoted following.  It’s about earthy classics cooked perfectly.  The prix fixe menu and specials are remarkably inexpensive for Paris.  They’ll even prepare take-out if you order ahead!  There aren’t many restaurants I’d like to pick up and bring home, but this is one.  By the way, the restaurant’s name is a cute reference to the French word for hobby.   The food is well above  hobby level.  Just down the street is their excellent casual cafe, Cafe Constant.  Stroll over this way after a Musee d’Orsay visit?
