Sometimes rail tickets are cheaper when purchased on site in France, however you are taking a risk as the price is often higher and certain trains tend to sell out.
Rail passes are available for purchase before your trip to France. Please note that rail passes can be a bit confusing to use and often require supplements for desired routes.
